| Comics & cartoons United Media The ultimate cartoon site with a lot of favourites. If you've heard of it, it's probably here. Mainly US-centred, but with one or two British cartoonists represented. They keep archives of recent material. Keenspot A web comics site, with a large number of strips. Wood who doesn't really like web comics particularly recommends Bobbins (www.bobbins.org) but there's lots of great stuff, from all over the world. Browse around for a while and you're sure to find something that appeals. Bold's Fold A hilarious look at the evangelical subculture. There isn't much of stuff there (only 7 cartoons, last time we looked), but what there is is pretty good. Doonesbury Love it or hate it, Doonesbury's cast of characters have been challenging preconceptions for thirty years. Meet Mike, JJ, Zonker and the frankly sinister Uncle Duke as they wander haphazardly through the modern world. Beautifully designed and updated daily, the site also includes complete character guides, games and a complete searchable 30-year archive. Astounding Space Thrills! The web's most popular comic strip set in an amazing kitsch retro future where good guys are good guys, bad guys are bad guys and positive particles just aren't so sure... Fun, games, an archive. |
