Social justice, poverty and hunger relief and responsible environmental stewardship are all causes that leave the world a better place. Do your part, make a difference.

Work for justice

Médicins sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders)
Medical professionals committed to providing healthcare in crisis areas to all people regardless of race, religion, sex, or politics. They also speak out against healthcare bias and poverty. We stand in awe.

Amnesty International
The human rights watchdog, Amnesty International acts against violations of all types of human abuses worldwide. A sobering look at how far we have to go.

American Civil Liberties Union
The ACLU provides legal representation and information on criminal justice, cyber liberties, monitoring congressional actions, drug policies, free speech, gay and lesbian rights, religious liberty, reproductive rights, racial equality, women's and students rights, and workplace rights.

Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan
RAWA is a political/social organization of Afghan women struggling for peace, freedom, democracy and women's rights in fundamentalism-blighted Afghanistan. This site provides information on activities, Afghani injustice to women, and political updates on the current situation in Afghanistan.

Action Without Borders
Find a job, a volunteer opportunity or a campaign to join. Organizations must commit to non-violent solutions as a condition for inclusion in the database.

End hunger and poverty

The Mercy Corps
Mercy Corps provides food shipments during global emergencies and then remains on the ground to help find lasting solutions to poverty. 94% of donations go directly to provide assistance.

America's Second Harvest
America's Second Harvest is the largest domestic hunger relief organization in the United States. 99.3% of all donations go directly to feed hungry people.

The Hunger Site
A non-profit group which works to provide food for the hungry through corporate sponsors. Web users merely visit the site and "click" to make a food donation. The corporate sponsors cooperatively provide the money.

The Hunger Project
Dedicated to ending hunger around the world, but also working for human rights, environmental responsibility and dignity for all people.

Homeless Pages is a comprehensive guide to information about... well, homelessness. Going far beyond mere statistics and stock answers, this site provides a veritable mountain of resources, including research reports, directories, training courses and websites.

World Vision
Originally begun as a means to provide for children orphaned in the Korean War, World Vision has since expanded its mission to include providing emergency humanitarian relief on all fronts. And in all of this you can still sponsor a child.

Sierra Club
America's most influential environmental organization, the Sierra Club works for environmentally responsible government policies as well as encouraging individual action.

The Nature Conservancy
The Nature Conservancy takes a proactive approach to ecological preservation – member contributions are used to purchase land in endangered ecosystems around the world.

Greenpeace International
Greenpeace activists are instrumental in bringing to light environmental abuses that would otherwise go unnoticed.
